Mor Theophilose Thirumeni arrived in Vienna for the Second Colloquium Syriacum





HG.Dr.Kuriakose Mor Theophilose Metropolitan arrived today in Vienna in order to participate in the Second Colloquium Syriacum organized by Pro oriente and which takes place from 4th to 6th November, 2009 at the Pallottihaus (Auhofstr. 10, 1130 Wien). Pro-oriente Colloquium Syriacum is a team of expert scholars from various syrian Christian churches joining together to develop appropriate studies and to help and to co-operate the research projects. Since its foundation in 1964, Pro-Oriente has focused on the ecumenical relationships between the Roman Catholic and the Eastern and the Oriental Orthodox Churches. Pro-oriente organizes such academic conferences in order to help the various churches of the Syrian tradition to preserve its unique heritage. H.G.Dr.Kuriakose Mor Theophilose represents our Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church and will present his paper on “Emigration of Syriac Christians moving from India – motives, impact (incl. Figures)” at 9.00 am on Friday, November 6, 2009.
